Olympus Voice Recorder Vn-4100pc Drivers For Mac
Today I bought a very handy Olympus VN-4100PC Digital Voice Recorder. It has already saved me a ton of trouble but I've come across something amusing, and Mac related.
OLYMPUS DIGITAL VOICE RECORDER VN-4100PC DRIVERS DOWNLOAD - Microsoft Gold Certified Company Recognized for best-in-class capabilities as an ISV Independent Software Vendor Solvusoft is recognized by Microsoft as a leading Independent Software Vendor, achieving the highest level of completence and excellence in software development.
The recorder came with a USB cable and some Windows only software. This didn't bother me in the least.
I bought the model I did for other reasons, not to transfer files to my iBook. Later on a whim I decided to plug it into my iBook just to see what would happen. Exactly nothing happened. No big deal I thought, Olympus just didn't write the software to make my iBook talk to the recorder. But then I went to Olympus' website to see if they offered an explanation as to why they didn't support the Mac. I expected to find some FAQ that simply stated that the Mac wasn't supported, end of story. Well I found the expected FAQ but it reads as.
The VN-4100PC is not compatible with Macintosh™ operating systems because the WAVE audio format is not supported by Macintosh platforms. The Macintosh isn't compatible with WAVE? Are we talking about the same WAVE (or wav) that is basically what comes off of every audio CD ever made? Digging a bit deeper I find that what they mean by WAVE is actually ADPCM.
So I've got two questions: 1. Is this ADPCM really something that won't play on a Mac or is Olympus just too lazy to make a Mac version of their software? Is there any tool that could convince this recorder to give me it's audio files? Download maine for mack. The thing is just recording to flash memory after all. I'm perfectly happy with both of these answers being no, but it would be so much fun if the answer to one or both of them was yes.
Cisco ios ip command reference release 12.2 : free dvd converter. It is my understanding that the VN 2100PC has a USB port & cable. The VN 2100 does not; Olympus uses 'pc' to distinguish the two. VN 2100pc: VN 2100: Is your question how to convert the files from CELP, ADPCM (WAVE) to a quicktime format after you plug the recorder into your computer and copy the files? Or are you having trouble connecting your recorder to your computer? It has been my experience that, once connected, a USB profile should show up in Finder and, after a bit of digging, you should be able to find your recordings and copy them. Please let me know the status; if Olympus 'PC' recorders are not compatible with OS X, it would be good to know (I'm looking at digital recorder presently). Apple Footer.
